The Dark Knight
FORMAT: 15/70mm CONDITION: โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… NOTES: Finally got to see this on IMAX film after years of missing my chance at first deliberately and then by chance. This print must have been projected over and over, so itโ€™s impressive that it looks the way it does, although there are instances when it gets spotty and most of the time there are specks of dust, hairs and what could be bugs getting stuck to the film. Ultraman: Rising
The film followed the struggles of Ken as he grew up in an American suburban household. Meanwhile, a group of cartoony talking dogs resided in another part of town, plotting on how they can help the guy. Similarly, I found a workprint of an unreleased Popeye movie from Genndy Tartakovsky that portrayed Popeye navigating an ordinary, non-violent modern life, having love troubles with Olive, shopping at convenience stores and whatnot. Finally we saw a photorealistic talking duck movie akin to Migration, which featured different characters altogether. There were plenty of shots of CG ducks flying over live-action vistas, and it ended the villain, a heron who sounded quite like Tim Curry, swimming through a hole under a wall into a flooded set of brick walls, into a vast empty space to throw a party. It faded to credits without having resolved anything.
