Deadpool & Wolverine
A two-parter, and part one wasnโ€™t even that Deadpool or Wolverine centric, dropping them in a few scenes early on โ€“ not even getting to do anything violent, just walking around bickering โ€“ while fixating on a whole roster of other, often made-up superheroes with more serious, intense and/or romantic character arcs. When everyone did finally come together, it was more like a โ€œthanks for watchingโ€ party set by a white cliff. So much for all of that.

The Old Oak
Dreamt up a Ken Loach film about a service worker in a retirement home who could telepathically possess people, in this case a man who just wants a plate of chips. It was a very deep, introspective study on identity, yet felt more surreal and stylistically extreme than his prior films. For instance, there is a dream sequence in which the woman looks into the man's eyes, his jaw tears open (it was gruesome, yet not bloody) and his mouth opens up before the woman, in the man's body, wakes up.

Wish
Instead of the post-credit scene you actually saw, this version ended on five different stingers, either of them a franchise hook, a bonus song, a tie-in commercial or an extra dose of nostalgia. The only two I remember featured this virtual warzone in which characters from The Ghost and Molly McGee and The Owl House post-timeskip showed up - and it was a treat to see them all on the big screen even if I had to suffer through this first - and a quote from this version of the movie repeated as a tie-in spot for special access to a third-party website. I wish I could remember the rest of them, I even tried, but as I sat through most of them and tried to leave, all I could think was this.
