FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★ NOTES: Original distribution print, supplied by Park Circus. The opening reel might have been slightly out of sync, and this is my first viewing but it did cause me to think that Bogarde’s lines were dubbed over in English, given that the Italian actors in that scene already were. The fourth reel was the one that looked all worn and faded, and the film suffers some severe damage towards the end, enduring a second of green scratches overwhelming the screen. Involves Wallace, Gromit and the police in pursuit of Feathers, as they chase him through a village to stop his evil plans to do........whatever. Eventually, Feathers - who is using a phone to speak in the voice of Kelsey Grammer - stumbles and is violently apprehended by PC Mukherjee. As Feathers confesses, his face is all beat up, his beak open. They did my boy dirty, alright.

The scene of Vince and Hunk’s fallout suffers the worst scratches. Has lost some frames, including but not limited to cutting the MGM lion’s third roar (yes, they used to keep in all three).
