Lu Over the Wall
The English dub of this premiered at the BFI, and the fact that it was dubbed was presented as "bad news", as well as that it had a few edits, but the "good news" was that it was mostly unedited. However, it was heavily edited and reanimated. Lu had a much deeper backstory, the story was relocated to a more industrial town, and new jokes included a video-game-quality-CG slam on The Shape of Water. In fact, the BFI had so much fun with this full house of a showing that they paused it during a fade to black and projected lifelike holograms of super pigs from Okja nervously rushing around the room. We could almost feel them. No casualties. When they were out the door somehow, it didn't even seem to be about SEIRรˆN, but I think it was just some young woman that Lu and the dog befriend. Having believed I already saw much of this, I went out to get refreshments, but because this is a dream I ended up at what looked like my parents' friend's house. This appeared to be the cinema's new hallway? Just when the film couldn't be more insane, when I was about to reach the screen, I ran into Harvey Weinstein. Yes, Harvey Weinstein. I was terrified and bemused but tried to play it cool. He even gave me a slight hug, which left me deeply uncomfortable. So I went back in and it turned out that he was attending this screening alongside a whole bunch of other white male executives who had just then taken up the two back rows, the further two rows now empty, in talks to promote himself, expect the audience to forgive him and potentially buy the film from GKIDS. The film paused again to let him speak, and nobody in the audience could forgive him, not even the executives. There was an argument and a protest to boot him out of the cinema, arrest him and resume the film, when one executive (probably Harvey himself) pulled out a gun and so commenced a shootout between the executives! Harvey was among those who died, but no casualties among the general public in the audience. My friend was injured and paralysed for a good 45 minutes. Lu Over the Wall (or at least how I dreamt it) resumed eventually, to a much smaller crowd. For a cartoon about a happy, dancing vampire-mermaid, this was uncalled for.

Men in Black: International
Unfortunately there are less aliens in this film than there is meant to be, but it does co-star Dwayne Johnson after K retires, it does take place on a skyscraper and it does in fact end with Will Smith and Dwayne kissing.

Pacific Rim: Uprising
Disney are in control of this series now because of course they are. They added a Mickey Mouse short that crosses Paul Rudish Mickey over with miniature robots that look like they came out of the Transformers movies but are apparently supposed to be part of the Pacific Rim universe. I missed the beginning and was too exhausted from rushing to the IMAX cinema to pay attention to the rest. And when the movie starts, they play not one but TWO variants of the Disney logo. One where it just pans from the right instead of above, and one that's supposed to be set in the world of Pacific Rim but looks like a fresh, futuristic world (like, uh, Tomorrowland) that plays as normal before zooming around the area for another minute, transitioning to a prologue. There is in fact a light-hearted, traditionally animated prologue by the Disney Animation Studios themselves set in a town in Jerusalem. Do we get the slightest hint of backstory to the kaiju? Nope, we get fully-CG Dougal from the Magic Roundabout movie. Cut to the real world and it feels just like Michael Bay directed this. Nothing about the jaegers, just dudes playing basketball and a government plotting. Hating this more than I imagined, I walked out five minutes into the main feature before things started exploding; I didn't see a kaiju or a jaeger once, just Transformers-y comic relief.
