Max the Movie Guy added 1 item to Films I've seen on celluloid in the digital era list
FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★★
NOTES: Screened as part of the Sidney Poitier season, the transport system screwed me over and I came in just as the film was about to start, so I couldn’t know the source of the print. Impressively clean print until midway through the film, in which it takes a couple of hits of damage, loses stability for a while and is a little less clean from then on.

Max the Movie Guy added 1 item to Films I've seen on celluloid in the digital era list
FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★
NOTES: 1991 restoration, the film’s first uncut release in the UK, with an overture preceding the UIP logo and an intermission. Several frames are missing, the opening half hour suffers from crackling sound and some scenes take some damage that darkens the frames.

NOTES: Perfectly grayscale print. The two shots in which Johnny forces the four clerks out of the office appear to have been sourced from an alternate print.

FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★★★
NOTES: Tremendous Cinecittà print, including title cards before each part and an 18-minute interval; a rare occasion in which this film was screened on film to UK audiences in its uncut form. A couple of frames were damaged, but that could just be the fault of the source print.

FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★
NOTES: Original distribution print, supplied by Park Circus. The opening reel might have been slightly out of sync, and this is my first viewing but it did cause me to think that Bogarde’s lines were dubbed over in English, given that the Italian actors in that scene already were. The fourth reel was the one that looked all worn and faded, and the film suffers some severe damage towards the end, enduring a second of green scratches overwhelming the screen.
