Minority Report
FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★★ NOTES: Print loaned by Park Circus for use in the BFI’s Tom Cruise season. Great looking and sounding print, although the changeovers are well worn and the vertical wear becomes more visible over time. DATE: May 17th 2025 CINEMA: BFI LOCATION: Southbank

The Extraordinary Miss Flower
SCREENING: HOH subtitled DATE: May 17th CINEMA: BFI LOCATION: Southbank NOTE: Had a 35mm screening of Welcome II the Terrordome booked earlier today, but I infuriatingly had to miss it because I forgot to check the trains an hour in advance and St Johns’ continuing failure to safeguard their rails against trespassers gave me no more convenient travel options.

Drunken Angel
FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★½ NOTES: Comprised of two BFI prints. The majority is not the sharpest scan, but the subtitles are in a decent amount of focus. The last three reels are sourced from a sharper negative scanned with larger and crisper subtitles, albeit with some spots of damage around the changeovers. Final Destination: Bloodlines
SCREENING: Dolby Atmos DATE: May 14th CINEMA: Vue LOCATION: West End NOTES: All the city’s IMAX Laser showings for this film shot for IMAX were cancelled because Sinners was just too good, so I tried 4DX at Cineworld to add some real danger to the experience, and in hopes of seeing Motel Destino afterwards and having a Thursday off. The seats rocked us about through the RAF propaganda, but they forgot to keep the 4DX on for the film. I claimed a full refund, moved my Curzon Soho showing and saw this film at the Vue instead. I guess you could say death had something planned for me that I couldn’t see coming.
