Max the Movie Guy added 1 item to Films I've seen on celluloid in the digital era list
FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★★
NOTES: Took this print about ten-ish minutes to get good regardless of the changeovers. Several frames were sliced, but nothing that would taint the soundtrack. Changeovers were messy, and the print got really scratchy as it reached the end of the credits, but those did not matter either.

FORMAT: 35mm

NOTES: This print was discovered at the last minute. It’s grainy and dirty in a way that feels perfect for the film, the metaphors especially, and having not seen the film in so many years it was occasionally hard for me to tell towards the beginning if there was a blotch of dirt or just another one of Edward Norton’s subliminal hallucinations of Tyler. The “cigarette burn” cues were messy enough for the audience to have an idea, and the scene where Tyler robs a newsagent was tampered with by a very visible frame cut and several consecutively damaged frames. A flaw that is completely inexcusable, however, is that some of the subliminal cocks have been cut out including the last one.

FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★½
NOTES: Clean in most parts, damaged in others, particularly during the changeovers. The frame cuts do little harm to the dialogue except when the Monstars bully Tweety. The damage when MJ is first seen at baseball is quite brutal for several seconds; although if I remember correctly, a few frames were either severely scratched or written on.

NOTES: It’s silly that a print of Good Burger could be this clean after 22 years, and the print’s condition can be attributed to the fact that it’s never been screened since possibly the film’s UK premiere. Screened before the first live recording of the cinema’s official Pod Charles Cinecast hosted by Jonathan Foster and Ariane Anantaputri, who were told about the print back in March and got further encouragement to screen it upon watching a Warburtons advert with Robert De Niro titled “GoodBagels”, and deciding during episode 5 of the podcast that it’s a pun better suited to Good Burger than GoodFellas. “Welcome to Good Bagel, home of the Good Bagel, can I take your order?”
