FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★★½ NOTES: The Akira print was copied directly from the original Japanese prints, and given the sources of these a Ghibli prints pre-Spirited Away, I felt that it would be clear as day that Totoro’s print came from a more modern method of transferral. Thankfully, it still felt for the most part like it could have come from any time before the 2000’s. The picture for around half of the film was slightly blurred, which did confirm my suspicions, but it was still a beautiful enough print to make me feel like it was 1988 or at least three years later.
