NOTES: A recently-discovered 35mm print likely to have been produced in the early 2000โs, opening Prince Charlesโ year-long Studio Ghibli Forever season for 2020. The changeovers noticeably cut off one second of footage and audio, but overall a gorgeous-looking print.

A repertory cinema far away in London was slated to screen this film from a 35mm print. I was curious, so I just walked right in there. Not a full crowd. Still, the print I got was clean, except first I was treated to a 7-minute recap starring, of all characters, Danny from Cats Don't Dance, who is inserted into random scenes from the film and in an American neighbourhood, in some of those scenes not looking like his usual self but like an alley cat complete with bulging yellow eyes. He is last seen flying into the night sky aboard Marahute, and the recap ended. Turns out, however, that the cinema thought this would be the film they were screening, as this short was attached to a family action blockbuster from the early 90's named 'Mowgli III', which seemed to adapt characters from The Jungle Book, but only focused on Mowgli, a modern-day citizen, among a crew stranded on a boat in the middle of a storm.
