FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★ NOTES: Very scratchy print; small, diagonal, rain-like scratches every second. Changeovers suffer the most ruin, several splices throughout, frames are covered by a vertical marker line when Kevin embarrasses himself in the choir and over a tracking shot of Tim Curry’s face. Sound was just fine, however, and scenes of New York at Christmas time look gorgeous underneath all the ruin in a way that colour grading for home video cannot justify. FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★★ NOTES: Print looks good even with all the dust! Playback aside from the changeovers is seamless until a severe cut occurs when Jamie and Johnny beg their parents to take them to the parade, sound is just fine until dust starts to get in the sound system for a few minutes when Jamie has his phone call with Harold. The curtain operators forgot this film had a post-credit scene and closed the curtains when the credits ended, only to open them back up again just in time for that one iconic last shot.
