NOTE: Had chosen to attend the gala screening of The Son instead of this one, having cried my eyes out the second time I saw The Father. Booked it shortly before the reviews started rolling in. It was when the TIFF reviews for Godland emerged, and then the TIFF reviews for The Son, that I really started to regret my decision, that I’d go down in history as the fool who skipped Godland in favour of The Son. Afraid of letting my £30 ticket go to waste and prepared for the better films playing at that time to release any last-minute tickets, I tried selling it through @LFFstubs as most others were doing, numerous times, to no success. Who would want to spend £30 on a ticket to a film they know is going to be bad? Eventually came to an agreement that if I could not sell it at all, then I’d either have to chance it, stay home or wait for those additional tickets anyway. Got my Godland ticket on the day, and thank goodness I did. I may have wasted £30 in the process, but I had realised by then that wasting money on a movie ticket that costly is less important than wasting your time.

Max the Movie Guy added 1 item to Films I've seen on celluloid in the digital era list
FORMAT: 35mm
CONDITION: ★★★½
NOTES: Provided by the Cinema Museum. A cut breaks the unbroken take during the opening credits, several holes appear in the middle while the entomologists are dissecting the hawkmoth and the print is scratchy enough for you to hear.
