NOTES: Mannโs shots of neon lights, lit-up shops and night clubs look fantastic printed onto film, as they always do, with minimal noticeable dust getting in the way. Only severe sign or wear is towards the beginning of the second reel, as green spots overlay the centre of the screen for two minutes while Max tries to cover up Vincentโs first victim.

NOTES: The Redux cut. Scratchiest on the right half, but the colours and picture are impressive and the sound is phenomenal. This is one of those films that could only work on celluloid in an auditorium.

Max the Movie Guy added 1 item to Movies according to my dreams list
Booked Mum into a showing of this film, and she wasn't a fan of what she saw. At one point I decided to check in and I did see the women as I remembered them, but I also saw a whole musical sequence of drone shots with CGI swarms of bees forming up various feminist iconography.

NOTES: Likely the 1979 reissue, and it plays pretty smoothly for a print whose colours have largely worn out over four decades. The reel containing The Nutcracker Suite, however, appeared to have been sourced from a later reissue, as the colours are slightly faded but look more natural than the rest of the print, although it and The Rite of Spring are missing a frame or two. During The Pastoral Symphony, every shot that was edited to erase Sunflower and Otika was cut to through a black frame; this also occurs before a shot in Dance of the Hours.
